REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5648

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NATIONAL SHRINE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BATAC, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE, TO BE KNOWN AS RICARTE SHRINE.

Be enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

 Section 1. There is established in the Municipality of Batac, Province of Ilocos Norte, a national shrine to be known as Ricarte Shrine, which shall comprise the land and the house built thereon where the late General Artemio Ricarte was born, as well as lands adjacent thereto not to exceed two thousand square meters whose acquisition by negotiation or expropriation is hereby authorized.

 Section 2. There shall be constructed on any vacant place in the land, birthplace of the late General Artemio Ricarte, a house wherein shall be preserved the relics in the General’s life.

 Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
